NEW!!! Assembly Table Page- check it out. It has motorized height adjustment!! VIDEO OF IT IN ACTION 10-15-2004 -- Inlayed Upper Cabinet DoorsThe inlay is an interesting process I picked up from watching David Marks. It involves developing the pattern, scrolling it out, routing out the recess freehand, and cleaning up with a few carving chisels for a perfect fit. Each door took me about 2 hours to do the inlay. There are 4 total.
Miter Saw Cabinet and Router Cabinet- Here are two projects I completed in June. They are definitely an improvement to my shop. The first is the miter saw station from NYW garage workshop series. Mine features baltic birch plywood with solid cherrry trim, rails and styles. The drawer was was constructed using the drawer lock joint done on my TS. The second project composed of adding storage and dust collection to my table saw/router station. I first constructed the single drawer and then got the idea for the router cabinet. The router cabinet is made up of a peice of cabinet grade oak plywood with dovetailed birch drawers. This cabinet was a challenge to get the dimensions right to work with my mobile base. A hole in the bottom of the draw box allows me access to my locking caster when the need arises. It came together in less than a week and will see many years of good use.
Lathe Tressel - This is made from a design done by Dominic from www.woodcentral.com. He has the same lathe and added a tressel for added stability. I liked it so much I made one for my lathe. I definitely improved an already fantastic lathe.
March 2002 Drill Press Table - I just kind of threw this together from some baltic birch plywood, oak, and laminate I had left over from my old table saw base. It is 1 1/4" with a removable insert. The fence is a attached with a peice of Aluminum angle stock.
Oct. 2001 Router Table Fence- I built this from a WOOD magazine article (I think). I don't use it as much as I used to since I've gotten my new table saw with built in router table, but it still comes in handy. The dust collection works really well.
Aug. 2001 Shop Base Cabinet- I built this from a Shop Notes plan. It is built out of southern yellow pine and mdf and weights a ton. This was my first project with a table saw (Ridgid TS2400 portable). It comes in very handy for part of my power tool collection.
